On about the third mile of our 22 mile trek, my friend April noticed that part of her boot sole was loose. When we took a closer look, it was evident that the glue was disintegrating on the soles of both boots! We had to re-tape several times along the way, but we got a pretty good laugh at the end of the trip when we saw how much that duct tape truly did along the way!
They are sturdy and worn. They have seen dusty miles and sloppy wet trails. They are the foundation that carries me over the miles. They are the boots.
The Columbine is one of my favorite flowers, and we found a lovely bank of them on the trail our last day. There were many great wildflowers along the way, but this was the best collection of Columbines we found on the whole trip!
