Burns Gulch Waterfall and Cabin
This waterfall and miner's cabin are at Burns Gulch, just below Animas Forks on the Animas River. It's a reminder of days gone by in Colorado when hopeful people flocked to the mountains of Colorado in hopes of striking it rich--to ultimately find a more comfortable life. While a few did find their fortune, many just found a very hard way of life. Now people flock to the mountains--ironically often in search of their own struggle of sorts, to search the peaks and valleys and to learn who they truly are. In these struggles is often found a richness of life that can't be found in the comforts of modern living; and so they return, time and again in search of that richness--in search of themselves.
